Security

When it comes to security of your computer second best just doesn't cut it. When you compare the security of Windows and Linux their is just no comparison. Linux, unlike windows has its advantages of being in a public domain were developers and yourself can work side by side to fix holes much faster then windows. It is a pleasure to be able to fix your own computer problems and if needed with the help of many developers. Also, windows unlike Linux continues to be the most vulnerable to security attacks of any operating system out today.

When a consumer looks at the security of the operating systems they should also be aware that windows is much more expensive to keep secure. Virus protection can cost from $50 to $200 and often needs to be updated every other year. Which will continue to boost the price. Linux has been around for almost twenty years and has stayed secure from widespread viruses, spyware and malware without the expensive cost of virus protection. So when you compare the security of windows and Linux their is just no comparison.

Linux vs. Windows

Consumers all around the world are switching from either Linux to windows or windows to Linux with out really understanding the advantages and disadvantages of both operating systems. Understanding the basics of each system can help even the most non-technical person make the right decision on what system to use in their house, business or laptop.

To start with an important part of consumers decisions are prices. Linux ended up wining this bout because most of their variants are free on the web or available for a much cheaper price then windows. Windows licenses run between $50 to $100 per each copy. If price is your number one issue you may want to go with Linux.

On the other hand for all you non-technical people who are just starting out in the technical field may want to side with windows. Microsoft recently made changes to their operating system that have made it more user friendly and much easier for the majority of consumers. Most of Linuxes variants have been advanced to make them more user friendly but windows is still much easier then Linux. If usability is your main issue then windows is the operating system for you.

If anyone out their agrees or disagrees. Has more advantages and disadvantages on Linux and Windows. Please feel free to share your wisdom, or for ever hold your peace.

Thanks
